Navigating Pennsylvania’s Alcohol Laws and RAMP Certification

Pennsylvania’s beer laws can be a bit tricky to decipher, but fear not! In this blog post, we’ll explore when and where you can buy alcohol in the Keystone State. Plus, we’ll delve into the essential role played by Ace Food Handler in obtaining your RAMP Certification.

When Can You Buy Beer in Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania has its own set of rules for selling and buying beer. Let’s break it down:

  1. Licensed Retail Locations (Bars and Restaurants):
    • You can purchase beer between 7:00 AM and 2:00 AM from Monday to Saturday.
    • On Sundays, these places can sell beer with a proper permit from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
  2. Beer Distributors and Breweries:
    • They can sell beer on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a Sunday Sales Permit.
  3. Retailers with Eating Places or ‘Cafes’:
    • These establishments may sell beer on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Monday.

Remember that specific locations with the required licenses may open later on Sundays but are not allowed to open earlier.
